ABOUT MELISSA BALTER

Melissa Balter has been designing since 2000.  Her career began as a manager and buyer for a home furnishings showroom in Montecito, CA.   She would help clients choose  furniture to accessories to make their homes beautiful, as well as shop for handpicked items from local to all over all over the world.

In 2002, Melissa attended Brooks Institute of Photography.  During school, she completed many projects of which she designed the sets for, therefore wanted to pursue her passion as a production designer.

By 2012, Melissa had designed multiple music video and commercial sets.  She has worked with many directors, and completed projects for The Black Keys to Avenged Sevenfold and commercials from Hanes to Meryl  Lynch.

In 2006, she was given the opportunity to become an associate designer for one of the “25 Best Interior Designers in the US” (Elle Decor 2011) Kathryn M. Ireland.  She managed many projects and was given the opportunity to design a guest house featured in Traditional Home in October 2009.

In 2010-2011, she had a role in Bravo’s “Million Dollar Decorator”.   She also has styled for many top magazines such as House Beautiful, Traditional Home, and The World of Interiors.

Melissa Balter currently resides in Ventura, CA with her sons and mini-farm and continues to work hard in the design industry.  She has completed projects from Santa Barbara to Los Angeles to the Bahamas ranging from construction and remodeling to accessorizing and styling.
